The Black Seed

The madilar race heads out into the world and begins to settle within the kingdom of Merenam.

After the first races were born by the tree, Iyassia's branches had been barren. Until one day a new fruit appears, a pitch-black seed. Within a week several dozen specimens of the new race are born dark skinned humanoids with the curious ability to take the shape of any humanoid creature they had encountered. They soon start calling themselves the madilar.   During this time, the kingdom of Merenam is in bad shape. A sickness plagues its mostly halfling population. Their queen despairs and eventually takes her own life. To everyone's surprise Iyassia doesn't choose one of Merenams inhabitants as the new ruler of the kingdom, but the firstborn madilar. The new king departs for Merenam with his people and soon after declares that Merenam is now the homeland of the madilar.
