Illyrica

The largest planet it its trinity system, Illyrica is home to the mortal races of the Paradigm Universe. Illyrica has two continents separated by a narrow ocean. It has vast ecosystems including icy tundras, soaring mountains, towering forests, thick jungles, and parched deserts. It also has three distinct oceans and many inland seas, lakes, and rivers.   Illyrica is one of three planets in the Paradigm Univers, the other two being Nollith and Omegas. Together, these three orbit the mighty jewel star Iota. The orbits of these planets are irregular due to their proximity, but sages can estimate when the planets will pass closely by each other using divination magics. These events are called confluences. Confluences occur once every two to three generations. During these confluences, denizens from each planet can easily travel between the two.   Confluences are not the only celestial event that occurs in Paradigm. On rare occasion, all three of the planets will come into a confluence, allowing for inhabitants from all three to travel. These events, known as Paradigm Shifts, are almost always epoch-shaking in nature. Empires fall, Demon hordes invade, or new gods are born during these Paradigm shifts. Each time a Shift occurs, the mortals of illyrica reset their calendar, keeping track of time by the years since the last shift occurred. So far in the world, 4 Paradigm Shifts have occurred.
