Communication - Summer Camp 2023 - Communication
Communication...
Being multicultural and international in real life...
Iheya is based on a leeser known, newly touched culture and region in a world that thinks its knows everything.
They speak a completely different language due to isolation and distances from the 'known' world, although they are frequent traders
When the first ship arrived, the first portal opened, the new arrivals saw people like them, but nothing like them. Their faces were different, their body types similar, but different. From both points of view, from those who were there already to those who just arrived, the other were beautiful and scary at the same time.
Neither spoke the others language. Symbols were foreign. Color pallets were different.
Secretly, leave it to couples to figure out how to communicate more rapidly than those who would negotiate trade and 'things'.
The world of Iheya is founded in Ryukyurian Language, more currently being replaced by Japanese. This world will focus on the origins of the Ryukyuan language and use it to the maximum potential for preservation of a dying language and for the educational component of associating it with a fantasy world as it has an ethereal sound when heard spoken by a native speaker, of which there are not many left. They will be followed either by glossary entries, or an on-the-spot phonetic pronunciation that can be used during the reading.
