Elemental Motes

Elemental spirits that vary in size and intelligence. Rethyri see them as messengers or pure aspects of nature, Ospsoi often feel they are more pest-like, from them taking over derelict or unused areas.   Earth motes: ambling, sentient rocks or trees often resembling vaguely humanoid forms. In nature, they are found in deep forests, rainforests, and swamps. In civilized lands, they are found wherever nature begins taking back space from humanity by sometimes slowly tearing down old buildings or planting trees.   Water motes: amorphous water globes and oozes. In nature, they are found in protected eddies and meanders of rivers, tide pools and springs. Around more humanoid populations, they lurk in fountains, more remote swimming/bathing pools   Fire motes: swirling, dancing flames that live in volcanoes, more rare than other motes and most in civilized areas are ones that have been imported.   Air motes: incorporeal sentient gusts, clouds and small dust devils that can be found anywhere with strong amounts of wind such as plains and coasts
