Angel of Vengeance

Origin: Found in a huge chasm at the bottom of a silver mine; a huge soapstone megalith with arcane runes and hideous visages. After a partial translation of the runes, it was understood to be a tool from an ancient civilization, after decades of research, there was a decision that it would be refashioned into something holy; artists and engineers were secreted into a remote facility to design and carve down the strange idol and eventually was shaped into the shape of the Goddess Raena kneeling to symbolize the Descendence.   The Dol Swamps Test: The first attempted use of the artifact as a weapon occurred in the Dol swamps. They succeeded in triggering a massive, destructive beam that razed all before it, leaving twisted remnants, and what would be termed soulglass.   Elderblooded and Elderborn   The Cleansing of Kousis: After making a concerted push to invade Ospos and strike at the heart of the Rethyri Confederation, the forces of the Pelegan Alliance made landfall along the beaches of Kousis, with their new panzergeists along with a large airship spearhead. It was expected to be a bloody, grinding battle that would push into Ospos territory towards their capital. Instead they met a large defensive force and the Angel of Vengeance, which was activated and used to clear the sky; the beam of destruction causing spectacular devastation that caused mass confusion and disarray, the beam was activated again and used to destroy the vanguard of the panzergeist before Ospos's own panzergeist and regular troops mopped up the remaining survivors, with a few escaping into the swamps of Yvaa Dolad.   The Taking of Mynkon: Ospos deployed the Angel of Vengeance against the massed airfleet at Mynkon while launching a simultaneous invasion of the Augerfist Peninsula, shattering Priagia's military might while conquering Aventhyr's heartland in a powerful pincer move, allowing the Osposi war machine to move swiftly back south to keep momentum against the rest of the Pelegan Alliance   Glassing of Dothmar : Rethyri Confederation forces land along the Ulangalian coast and meet Ulangal's forces on the Dothmor plains; having heard of the destruction of Mynkon, the Ulangalians attempted to attack in fast moving, spread out groups with flanking via airship. That is when one of the shards from the original megalith had been turned into a bomb and airdropped over the battle, reducing the combatants to soulglass.    Shronqosi: Full power of the Angel of Vengeance is brought about, entire city is hit and left a hideous scar, the twisting energies of the Vengeance killing, mutating and reanimating its inhabitants. Details of what happened are suppressed, though the horror and crime of what was done sap even the will of the Rethyri Confederation. A cordon is established around the blasted ruins with no one allowed in or out.   Rohton Massacre: The survivors of Shronqosi were caught at Rohton, conflicting reports say there was a final suicidal charge, others report there were attempts to surrender. They were wiped out completely with another full power blast, they would be the last casualties of the Vengeance during the war as the rest of the Confederation began to halt cooperation with Ospos.
