Sorceress
Magical radiation exists at low levels as an omnipresent field. A sorceress (or sorcerer, if male) is a magic user with the ability to detect and manipulate the minor fluctuations of this field which occur naturally. While the magic field is perturbed by all manner of things (including a human moving through it, albeit only to a minuscule degree), the best-known source of field excitations is the lingering presence after a person's death -- colloquially, the "soul." Sorceresses' ability to tap into the potential created by imbalances in the field, then, have resulted in their being branded as desecrators of the dead; they are equal parts demanded and reviled.
Theurgy is not a learned skill, at least at its root. While, like all skills, it can be honed and mastered, the baseline ability cannot be controlled. Its exact roots are unknown, in fact, and may be due to either birth or traumatic experience.
Sorceresses' powers can be subtler than the other varieties of magic user, and typically comes in the form of quasi-premonition. By paying close attention to the subtle variation in the magical field, sufficiently-skilled sorceresses can, for only one example, tell if a person has been through an area, how recently, which direction they went, and their general temperament while they were there, though they can only tell which person if they are already familiar with their aura -- that is, the specific effect they have on the magical field. If a person has been killed recently, their lingering presence will, in a manner of speaking, "scream out" to a sorceress.
A sorceress's powers make her a highly adept tracker. Many work as investigators. The members of the famed Sanuesh Hunter Corps (the "wendigos") almost ubiquitously possess at least some theurgic affinity.
However, this is not the extent of a sorceress's abilities. In addition to interpreting the subtle condition of the magic field, they can also manipulate it. This generally manifests as influencing nearby objects, pushing or pulling on them from a distance and potentially with sharp force. This ability, unfortunately, is highly dependent on proper field conditions, and any degree of fine control is extraordinarily difficult to achieve and all but impossible to ever truly "master."
As a note: these are not considered "spells," much in the same way running around on a field does not in itself constitute a "game." While this talent is not entirely without utility, the theurgic sense usually receives the majority of the training.
"An old fisher goes to her sailboat, just large enough for herself. She sails for a day on a slow, gentle breeze. That night, there is a storm in the port where she left. A sorceress comes by in the morning and feels the waves on the shore, and from that can tell you exactly where the old fisher went."
--Proverb used to describe the power of a sorceress's sense. Acknowledged to be a bit of an exaggeration.
