Graven
You emerge from the portal, slightly nauseous as always. At least your arrival point is expected. As for most explorers, you find yourself in a misty forest. The trees around you are nothing to write home about, a plain temperate oak forest if it wasn't for the encroaching mist that blocks your line of sight beyond the clearing. No, the real landmark is the immense obelisks erected right in front of you. It rises to the clouds, or is it just the limit of the fog?
The rocky spike is made of a single block of stone, barely sculpted to sharpen its angles and give it a sort of pedestal. However, the face is clad with engravings that you can barely make up. Symbols, drawings or words, they all blur together and dance around until your gaze manages to fix them in place. You immediately get a headache, as the carvings are familiar to you, their meaning etched at the boundary of your mind, barely out of reach.
Nevertheless, you feel it calling to you, triggering your sense of adventure, a lust for discovery that you didn't even knew you have. You have barely made your first step in this mysterious dimension, and already a mystery appeared before you.
