Mana
Mana, the base material that fuels all magic in the world of Ibratia.
Origionating from the Aetherworld, mana now flows trough all of Ibratia. It fuels all magical efects while also being a food source for the Fae, which starve and die without it.
Mana is a weird substance. It is aetherial, ever present, intangiable and flowing tough solid objects like it does not excist. Yet, in capable hands mana can be shaped into any physical construct desired by the owner of said hands.
Mana has no master, it trashes wildly trough the world. Uncaring, unknowing and unloving. Mana proceeds as were it a living entity, owning it's own will that seems defiant of anyone interfearing. Yet, it can be tamed by one that studies it, learns it's ways. A master of magic will know mana as a lover, a brother, a confidant, a friend. One that is ignorant to mana will not even notice it's prescence, but the effects others have utilizing it.
The fae feed on mana, while also being made up of the substance. The ultimate cannibals without motivations. Much like clouds, the more dense mana change colors and form the fae. While a fae at it's end chooses to disperse and "rain down" on the world, spreading mana to condense anew.
The Humans fear mana, it is unknow to their physical being. Although many humans feels oddly drawn to the intangible allure of the alien substance. Mana grants these humans power that is unheard of trough history. It feeds their urge to excell beyond their peers. Ever present, unrelenting, MANA.
From Fae to mana, mana to fey. The neverending cycle got broken due to the clashing of the worlds in the Creationist Myth, mana is running amock. Will it stay with the Fae, forming and unforming in a cycle? Or will the Humans tame it and make it their slave?
Fate is in your hands, will you take it? Or will you let it pass you by?
