The Xavathun, parasitic lifeform and last superpower in Andromeda, begin a campaign to exterminate the Krigan. Their highly advanced weapons and warships see the Empire brought to the brink, and it is only through sheer numbers that the Krigan can turn the tide of war. Pushed back further and further, the Xavathun develop ever more destructive weapons, turning entire sectors into massive graveyards. The last of their kind are annihilated during the Battle of Amala and from the ashes, the Krigan Empire emerges as the supreme power of the galaxy.
