Azenos

Plural Azenen Azenos are a major sentient organism on Toran   Azenos resemble Naga but there upper torso have longer arms than a human and there whole body is cover in unique scales called skala. They also possess external spines that ride up the upper half of their spine

Basic Information

Anatomy

Azenen have an upper torso and a lower tail. They possess 2 arms and a large tail which serves as their primary means of locomotion. On average, Azenen measure approximately 12 feet in length from head to tail tip. The upper torso, including the head, typically spans about 4 feet, while the tail extends the remaining 8 feet.   A defining characteristic of Azenen is the series of external spines that run along the upper half of their spine. These spines are not ridged and can easily be brushed back. Male Azenen have a total of 16 spines while females have 18.   Azenen Skala can vary in color and pattern, serving as camouflage within their natural habitats but modernization has given their Skala a more cosmetic function
Azenen heads are distinguished by the presence of brain tendrils—long, cylindrical structures that taper to fine tips. These tendrils extend across the top of the head and typically reach down to the neck. The Azenen brain is distributed among these 12 tendrils, which are multifaceted in function. In addition to housing neural tissue, the tendrils serve as airways leading to the lungs, olfactory receptors for scent detection, and vocal modulators for communication. Each tendril is capable of producing sound independently, though most Azenen exhibit a dominant speaking tendril that takes precedence in vocalization.

Genetics and Reproduction

Azenen have two distinct sexes: male and female. The determination of sex in Azenos offspring occurs approximately four months after birth. This differentiation is triggered by a hormonal change in the mother's milk. If an Azenos doesn't have this dietary change they won't develop any sexual organ and by consequence be infertile.

Growth Rate & Stages

Azenen reach sexual maturity at 6.5 of Toran planet cycles (16 years) and complete maturity at 10 planet cycles (25 years)
With a healthy life style an Azenos can live for 44 planet cycles (110ish years)

Ecology and Habitats

Due to the simalarity between Toran and Earth living conditions and the 2 planets being on good terms, Azenen can be found on both planets.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Healthy Azenen diets are between 4000-6000 Calories

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Azenen possess highly developed sensory systems, including sharp vision and keen olfactory senses, which enable them to detect and track objects from considerable distances.
Azenen external spines function as sophisticated sensory organ. They are capable of detecting electromagnetic forces with remarkable precision, up to 5 gauss.
Azenen have extremly sensitvie hearing able to pick up sounds as quite as -20 decibles, however loud noises over 115 decibles are painful to Azenos and can cause hearing damage
