Origin

Firebelly Gobblitz come from the small island community of il'Dranak near the very active volcano known as The Syndicate Breakthrough.
The Syndicate Breakthrough erupts up to four times a season. Each eruption enables a steady flow of Firebelly Gobblitz to form. These spherical pieces of food are soft to the touch, squishing under light pressure. Every orb is a semi-solid ball of fluid, the insides of which are a magical mixture of magma, water, and minerals. The core of each Firebelly Gobblitz is visible and constantly flickers like the flame of a strong-burning fire.
Each time the volcano erupts, debris from its expulsion of magma and ash mix with the waters of the ocean and instead of forming hard, darkened rock, they roll on the surface of the water and shape into small orbs that contain a low amount of magical energy within them brought from the belly of the world. These orbs float in liquid and are very lightweight.
Named after the feeling these induce on those that consume it--a burning belly of fire for gobbling down food--these weaponized treats are dangerously enjoyable.
 

Effects of Consumption

The taste of sweetness overtakes the consumer at first, like a shot of pure flavored sugar. Immediately after, a burning sensation of heat replaces the sweet sensation. With a gut wrenching in pain, the consumer has some time while literal fire builds within their digestive system. Once ready to expel, the consumer's next large exhale results in a vomit of fire and magma in a small area. This destructive side effect has become well sought after as a concealed weapon, if the consumer can hold it back long enough. If held for too long, the consumer will begin to burn from the insides until they eventually combust. Even those resistant or immune to heat or fire have been found to succumb to these effects.
While experiencing these effects, the consumer believes they experience heightened perception. Sounds, movement, patterns, and other stimuli are described to become more intense, causing another sought-after effect for the food. Within three days, the consumer finds their body starting to experience a withdrawal. Their skin begins to itch, veins begin to burn, and body begins to become parched. Dryness sets in and a constant burning in the gut can be felt which is only sated by another dose of Firebelly Gobblitz. This creates a level of addiction for the consumer akin to a drug as without satiating it, their body endures many nights of disturbed rest and reduced focus.
