Leviathan Crab

The largest crab in a seabed known for extremes, the Leviathan Crab inhabits the middle depths of the Brunivard oceans, living as deep as 500 meters, but never coming closer to the surface than 70 meters. Though they are not particularly social animals, they often congregate around deep sea vents, though it is unclear if this is for the warmth or the greater supply of food.   An adult Leviathan Crab can reach 2 full meters across the body, with a 10 meter leg span. They are omnivorous, eating both animals and plants, and they will scavenge dead animals found on the floor of the ocean as necessary. They can use their leverage and the strength of their crushing jaws to open molluscs or crack open smaller shellfish.   They are difficult to hunt or trap, and their meat is considered a delicacy by the giants of Brunivard.
