War Giraffe
Towering above the grass, these armor-plated beasts can provide a tremendous advantage to ground forces. Where some grasses can grow past the head of one mounted on horseback, being able to see above the plants allows outriders and vanguard sentries to keep a strategic view of the battle. Although they don't have the natural resistance to grasping plant tendrils that reptiles possess, or the capability of flight, a giraffe's long, thin legs provide only a small surface area, with their main mass above the grass. With armor plating, these majestic animals can slide through dense grass with ease and grace. A giraffe can also go for long stretches without water, allowing them to outlast other mounts in the heat of battle, and over a long march.
