The Glass Garden
Deep in the plains, there lies a land that is strangely unaffected by churn. Although the plants dig and pull the soil around the region, they are unable to drown the dreaded Glass Garden. Once upon a time, the area was the center of a small but powerful kingdom. Now, it is a glass statuary, an almost silent garden of vitrified memories of the people who used to live here. A perfect circle, one mile in diameter, of faintly blue glass is just about all that remains of this nation. Its citizens can still be seen, though, as statues made of this same glass. Between all the lost citizens, roses grow in carefully placed arrangements, seemingly under a different set of rules than their carnivorous wild cousins in the surrounding plains. The only creatures here are silent insects, as no other living things that escape the watchful eye of the ghost who haunts this place. It is the territory of Lady Vivianna, a dreadful specter who still tends to her garden in death. Silence reigns in the glass garden, with only the Lady's haunting humming to break it.
Ecosystem
The ecosystem here is wholly unnatural, shaped entirely by the drifting whims of Lady Vivianna. Flowers only grow where she touches, and she rarely ever grows anything other than roses. Natural plants can't find purchase in the little soil that settles here. Animals that come into the garden are touched by the specter of the glass land, and immediately sprout fatal blooms from their bodies. Only insects come in to drink from the flowers, and are small enough to escape notice.
Localized Phenomena
A supernatural quiet settles over the glass garden. Statues here seem to vibrate and hum softly when Lady Vivianna is near, a frightful low-frequency sound that announces her dream-like dance.
Plants here seem to have their own form of corruption, as arcane accumulation cannot settle here. The roses in the garden are still carnivorous, but they do not experience the rampant growth from late-stage corruption that would be expected in the rest of the region. Rather, they are under the direct influence of Lady Vivianna. This also causes the the roses to bloom constantly, not limited by season.
Although weather falls upon the area the same as it does for the surrounding plains, harsh weather tends to break before hitting the area. It seems to provide a shelter from the worst of the elements, a trap that passing animals fall for all too often.
