Swanheart Nectar

When Swanheart Grotto draws near to a suitable resting site, it begins to release puffs of kairomonal vapor to signal its arrival. As it settles, the entity's back unfolds like a blooming flower, creating the artificial watering hole that draws in nearby creatures. In truth, the inviting pool that is revealed is not actually water. It does mostly consist of water, and nearly the same viscosity, but the inherent magic of Swanheart Grotto imbues the oasis with a little something extra. The nectar is supplied with small amounts of salts and sugars, and a good dose of revitalizing magic. With the extra boost given to the nectar, a creature that drinks from Swanheart Grotto's pool will regain its energy more quickly, and with the magic, will recover from injuries at great speed. Some naturalists have even recorded lame animals recovering use of the injured limbs after spending a few days at the watering hole.   Many animals can smell the presence of water, and thirst drives many a migration. But the kairomones present in Swanheart nectar become an alluring scent that few animals can resist. Layered over the smell of sugar, water, and lightly soporific vapors is a stronger scent that is unique to any animal perceiving it. Sometimes the scent is of exotic spices, cooking meat, or flowers from another region. It may be a scent of parents or animals from the same herd. No matter the case, the strongest scent of the nectar is that of a comforting memory to the animal that smells it.
