Redeye Hyena
These corrupted beasts are the tendrils through which Black Rongo can influence the far reaches of the plains, even when her baleful eye has focused elsewhere. Most Redeye Hyenas are mutated hyenas, created when Black Rongo manifests at a natural pack of the animals, and subsumes them into her fold. Others, rarely, are formed from humanoid victims of the Entity; victims of her omens come to pass, twisted after death into her image.

Anatomy
These monsters mostly have the same anatomy as mundane hyenas, but often have lengthened limbs that lend them a slightly unnatural gait.
Biological Traits
Redeye hyenas can pass for their natural counterparts, at least at a distance or in the dark. There are always several tells that give away their monstrous nature. Their size ranges from that of normal hyena to that of an ox. Often, their toes are longer or more rounded, giving the impression of human hands or fingers.
Most definitively, redeyes can be distinguished by their calls and their eyes, which are never the same as in nature. While hyena calls can be likened to laughter, redeye vocalizations are the laughs of people. The manic chuckles, huffing laughs, and cruel gloating are gifts bestowed unto them by Black Rongo's influence, to help create a miasma of fear. The other trait giving their nature away are the eyes of these monsters. They glow with an eerie light, red as the light of Cor. The eyes cast light, but do not have the natural properties of other sources of light- the center of the eyes show as if well lit but not being brighter than the rest of the eye, leaving the pupils to be clearly visible even at a distance, so that prey can always see when the eyes have locked on to them.
Genetics and Reproduction
Without natural reproduction, these monsters are only created when Black Rongo is near, shedding energy from her links to Ethereum.
