Drakes
Drakes are lesser forms of dragons, and come in many varieties. They were somewhat rare before the Fall, but have been able to gain more footholds in niches that are no longer held by other species. Most species of drake are wingless, capable only of aquatic or terrestrial movement.
Almost all drakes have innate protective instincts, traits that are common to all draconic lines. All species of these dragons are drawn to specific types of materials, often related to their nesting needs. This protective and hoarding instinct has been worked into a strong bond by some trainers, allowing these creatures to become powerful and loyal companions.
