In the aftermath of the Third World War, peace had not come as many would've hoped. The former geopolitical organizations of the 21st century have been consolidated en masse and governance is stretched wafer thin. This leaves room for chaotic forces to attempt to take control by any means necessary. The populace has become increasingly militarized as a result, fear of attacks driving some to form militias to protect vulnerable territories. There's an even greater crisis that's slowly brewing; in the years following, a small percentage of humanity had been "Recoded" and have developed inhuman abilities. There's a worry that, by allowing the Recoded to propagate, humanity as it's known now will cease to exist and the war would have been fought for nothing. Because it's so hard to disseminate a Recoded from a natural human, distrust and isolation is becoming the norm. It is in this time that a group of students throw themselves into hell to make the world a better place - and finally lay their personal demons to rest.
