The Sacking of Lurians Wake
Lurians wake was, as it existed, a small but prosperous unification of hunters, gatherers, builders, and fishers. Settlers arrived in 322 CE.
The town's main borders consisted of two heavily forested areas, one south and the second westerly from the city. The westerly forest was made a home by Goblinoid Creatures who often raided outlying farms, harried traders, and travelers, and generally made a nuisance of themselves.
The southern forest was home to creatures of a more gentle bent who found ways to live in a harmonious and naturalized peace with the land and each other. The natural order was the law and this law was overseen and tended to by the Firbolgs who made their homes within the forest.
After several more daring and effective raids the citizens of Lurians Wake opted to construct walls between the narrow lake and the sea to prevent the incursions by goblins and their kin. The heavy defenses detered them from attacking for several generations and through diplomacy and compromises the humans of Lurians Wake and the Firbolgs coexisted.
however this was to change after Urkac The Sabre, a Hobgoblin of high intelligence and low consideration for the human and forest inhabitants began to form a stronger and more cohesive force of his submissive kin. over the course of several years through iron will and heavy handed discipline Urkac created a formidable army of goblinoid creatures, the spearhead of which was a hard hitting and merciless tribe of bugbears named "Wolf-Manes". Leading the army south through their own forests stripping it of all food and dealing death to any creature they encountered Urkac felt his ambitions swell.
After a brief period of rest at the southern edge of the narrow lake the army swarmed north through the peaceful forests the firbolgs and other creatures called home murdering and razing anywhere they encountered those dwelling in the forests before making their way finally to Lurians Wake. Once there they were met with little resistance as the concentration of forces had been moved west to the wall. Falling in a matter of days the city was pulled down to the ground and its inhabitants put to the sword.
