South/Southwest Region: Duvaquotl Islanders
The oceans of the west are only crossable through the southern Highish Sea along a corridor running from the mouth of the Hubbish Sea to the end of Deadened Bay. Although the northern Higher Sea is plagued by storms and monsters, the sea floor is home to the world’s most developed Silveradam civilization. The Simmering Sea to the south of the Iron Chain Islands is also prone to storms and becomes dangerously hot at its southern extreme. The Iron Chain Islands connect the southern continents of Wadwala and Chijiplum and are home to myriad peoples and factions. Many of the smaller islands are used as pirate bases. The larger islands are home to a variety of tribes as well as some small kingdoms and merchant communities. The Highish Sea ocean floor is dominated by the Sahuagin, who add another dimension of danger to seafaring.
The most populous culture of Iron Chain and Deadened Bay island dwellers is the Duvaquotl people, who speak a creole of Cuautil and Duvan. All except the Karlukan tribe favour the pirate’s life.
