Ocean Endless Region: Indoshowa Islands
The Indoshowa-speaking tribes of the southern Ocean Endless are simultaneously more religious and more warlike than their northern cousins (the Indoshowa and Pinoshowa languages overlap by about 30%). The Shark and Volcano tribes both terrorise sailors and islanders, including one another. Although both fish, neither culture bothers with agriculture beyond the odd small yam plot, but both practice cannibalism, their pirate raids also serving as hunting expeditions. Most time not honing weapons or waging war is spent in religious ceremonies and there is a song, dance, or incantation for just about every part of daily life. The Dragon tribe is as ceremonious as its brethren, and also practices cannibalism, but is non-aggressive and trains its warriors for defense. Dragon warriors are so formidable that the Sharkis and Volcanis won’t bother them at all and even disperse in the event that a boat bearing the Dragon totem appears to be coming to the aid of a victim of piracy. Rather than forming a standard dietary practice, Dragonis only eat humans and humanoids conquered in battle, and do so with great ceremony and solemnity.
