Northwest Region: The Wolf Tribe

The steppes and forests extending from the base of the western mountains to the eastern shore are home to independent bands of hunter-gatherers who consider themselves a large family, though the distances between communities means they rarely come together. This region is also teeming with monsters, but rather than avoid these, many Wolves seek out dangerous trophies either for the social standing they bring or the trade value they have in the tamer lands to the south. The Wolf territories are bordered along the north by the Vastlands, and along the south by the Great Bear League, the Maize Confederacy, and the Coyote Association. Their western limit is the mountains of the Raven Empire, which invades the Wolf lands from time to time to round up slaves.   Races: Human, Hengeyokai   Common Tongue: Gongan   Classes: Beast Warrior, Paskwaw, Sylvanean, Survivalist, Skald, Medicine Wo/Man

Structure

The bands vary in their rules and leadership selection. Some have chiefs, some are led by councils, some work entirely by consensus. The tribe as a whole has no leader and only operates in a unified way for war or in the face of disasters. Wolf bands often end up at odds with one another, but if it comes to violence, neighbouring bands will intervene and impose a peace treaty. If an agreement cannot be made, a band may be ousted from the fold, meaning that no Wolf is to trade with them, eat with them, or marry among them, until they make a show of humility before a gathering of band representatives.
