Where am I?
The Tapir stared up at the faces of the beings surrounding him. They had dark eyes and their bodies were pastel shades of pink and green and blue. There was something light about them, despite their size. Maybe it was how floaty their ears and trunks were, or how the lack of reflection in their eyes made one almost believe they were hollow inside. Those eyes stared down at the Tapir now, curious, waiting.
In a daze, all he could think to say was, "Where am I?"
"You don't know? You're in the Heavenly Kingdom!" one of them piped up, lifting her trunk. "Where did you come from? Did you hit your head?"
"I'm... not sure..." The Tapir sat up and scratched his neck. These beings really were so much bigger than him. It was a little intimidating. "I'm not sure where I come from... or how I got here..."
"Oh dear," said another elephant with a deeper voice. After a pause, he continued, "Well, why don't you stay here until you figure it out? There's plenty of room!"
"R-Really?" There was something important he was forgetting, but what it was the Tapir was not sure. "That's incredibly kind of you."
"Well, where else are you going to go? We can't exactly throw you off the Point, now can we? Come on, up you get."
The Tapir stood up and brushed himself off. With every passing second, the important thing mattered less and less. Very soon, not even the slightest whisper would remain.
"Come to our house, let's have dinner!"
"Would you like me to show you around?"
"What should we call you? You kind of look like..."
And so the Bubble Elephants swept the Tapir away, off to the rest of his life.
