Revival

Revival is the process in which an entity of the Hotel is created. There are several types of revival, but the most important three are reanimation, recreation, and rebirth.   Reanimation refers to a "reanimated spirit" — an entity of the hotel whose human body was not destroyed upon death, and therefore, was only mildly altered before revival. Reanimated entities usually have the most memory of their previous lives.   Recreation refers to a "recreated spirit" — an entity of the hotel whose human body was destroyed upon death, and then remade.   Rebirth refers to a "reborn spirit" — an entity of the hotel whose human body was heavily altered upon (or after) death. Reborn entities usually have little to no memory of their previous lives, and are typically animalistic in nature, although there are exceptions.
