History
There had only been twenty-seven Kensai. Nevermore never less. It went back to the dawn of the order. And each warrior carried a crest with them, each mark tracing back to one of the original Kensai. As legend had it centuries ago the iris had been opened and was held fast there. Invaders began to come through. Assembled warriors plunged into the maw and fought the intruders back. Some two hundred went in, and only twenty-seven came back. While the crisis only lasted barely an hour in Horizon, on the other side 23 years had passed. And in that time the 27 had joined with the local culture and become a samurai and followed an honor code to protect the iris. It had taken many lives to retake the iris and return home. The realm was sealed, and no one was to return for the sake of the other side and Horizon. Those twenty-seven became an order sworn to teach the ways of the samurai to those how would listen and to be a living example of the dedication required for Horizon’s protection.
