SE07 : EP26 - A Favor for Daphix Part II

The following day, they awake in the town of Wakefield. Over breakfast, they learn that the local power of Yarlbarrough is trying to claim smaller territories and build itself into a kingdom. The people of this own have had to protect the meager crops and snake trapping from them. But the thief of this totem, a sacred talisman, has genuinely been disheartening.
  They start shortly into the morning, hoping to get ahead of the mid-day heat. Wilderbeasta and gazelles greet them as they traverse this savannah. By night, they are tired and drained from the high temperatures. They camp take three uneventful shifts at the watch,
  The next day's travel is marked by a Wakefilt goldfinch, which travels with its cart for most of the day. Eventually, they find a broken-down cart. The team travels towards it and discovers it is slowly sinking into the sand. They pass it and see the goldfish flutter back to the abandoned cart. Sentinel stops the cart and goes back to investigate. He spots a dedicated hand poking out near a broken birdcage. They attempted to tow it out but to no avail.
  After another uneventful night, they travel to the north. The land subtly gets greener. By the end of the day, they start seeing some homesteads and distant villages on the side of a trial, slowly becoming a road.
  The next day begins with a meeting with a Yarlbourgh knight. Border tax knight Kial explains the visas and admiration required. After being scanned with what they think is a magic scope, After a proper assessment, they are told of the charge. They check to be sure this isn't some shakedown and then pay the tariffs. They continue and can negotiate lodging with the local farm so they can sleep in their barn loft.
  After another day's travel, they arrive at the capital city. It is clearly a well-established culture—well-maintained, modern, and dotted with advertisements. Truly a kingdom. A street kid offers directions for a silver and escorts them to the magistrate. They split up, with half investigating the local customs and the other's arranging lodging. After meeting up for a late lunch, they discuss their next move.  
  They head to learn more about the kingdom by heading to the Yarlbourgh Museum.
