SE04 : EP47 - What the Muck
General Summary
The chamber is massive. Stretching up and down for hundreds of feet before fading into impenetrable gloom. Daphix investigates the walls, looking closely at the craft. It is druid crafted in some way, the walls were shaped. Seeing the only way to investigate is to go deeper into the caves, they descend. deeper in they trip through a bramble of roots or something causing poison spore burst into the air. Most of the party chokes on the invasive spores, hacking cand struggling for air. Examining the floor they see the torn open chunk of long-dead roo they tripped on. Not a trap thankfully, just a natural hazard.
Recovering they continue in, the floor showing marks of moving heavy items out the way they came. Also, the floor gets moist and a thin layer of slime is felt underfoot. Feeling the weight of the journey they decide to use the porter's key to rest.
Latter they find a scroll case has been left outside of the porter's rest door. It's from the producer, reminding them of the cost of resting. From there they start down the passageway. The uck starts to rise to reach waist height. Kellasin Leafstrider in lead finds his foot assaulted by some type of brair. They decide to take the course more strageically using a mix of magic and trial and error to navigate the hazard.
They arrive in a series of chambers that form a small compound. Some sort of farm.In a tent they find a downtrodden drow woman and her child. As they cycle languages until they find a common language in Infernal. Soon they put her at ease and find there is a whole community of drow. When they ask who the leader of the group is, a dryder hanging from the ceiling answers.
He descends ending up perched upon a natural stone pillar. He introduces himself a Bobbert and describes the situation his civilization finds it self in. The children of Lloth have been cast down by the Mind Flayers. A person named Marcus showed them the ways of druid craft, an art prevented by the layers. They are forced to work the living things and to fell them to build weapons.
