City Hall

At the hub of the world is the gold capped violet tower of City Hall. At it's peak the golden domes of the Great Orrery rumble with clockwork models of all the known universe. In its shadow the deliberations of the City Council occur in its austere chambers. Below them the innerworkings of the municipal bodies have there offices, meeting rooms, and facilities. At its base is the brass columns that hold up the portico that leads in the hall it's self were hundreds gather every day to transact the daily business of the city's politics.   It dominates on corner of Forum Plaza and faces on its the opposite two sides the The Judiciary and Houses of Parliament.

Purpose / Function

Horizon's city hall is used for the transaction of all public business with in the city. The home of the City Council's chambers, municipal offices, various committees andassemblies. Also the Great Orrery at it's top is a observaroty for all the cosmology known to the Horizians.

Architecture

As one of the tallest towers in all of Horizon it a central landmark in all of the city. It is large triangular building of purple marble that rise uniformally 500 feet into the air. A golden domed structure crowns the building contaaining the Great Orrery maintaned by The Candlefairs. Its sharpest angle peirces into the Central Square with the cantilevered structure of the orrery hanging out over the the square below. The other two corners are fitted with shafts for magical lifts that raise out from security posts up the entirety of the tower.       The highly polished marbles make up its walls. At its base is dark almost black and as it rise the hue bends towards red at its peak. Pillars made of a brass form its portico with a trangular capped roof covering this enterance. Every fifth floor has a band of brass marking is height. Once is rises to the first of these heigths tall narrow windows framed in obsidion begin to appear. Large gaps between thes multi floor windows are often addorn with gaint banners for festivals and other occasions. Inside stone, glass, and brass fixtures meld with fine wood and velvet furniture. Art of all eras is on display and various stories are told in tapstries, friezse, and writings of all manner of construction.
