Playable Species Options
In Honarth, players have the option to play as one of three different sentient species: Humans, Cadonians, or Droids. Each species has its own unique characteristics, history, and culture, and players will need to consider these factors when creating their characters.
Humans
Humans are the original inhabitants of Honarth and have a long history on the planet. They have a wide range of physical characteristics, including various skin tones and hair colors. They share the same culture and societal traits as Cadonians and there is no segregation of species. While there is no inter-species reproduction between them, inter-species romantic relationships are normal.Cadonians
Cadonians are a humanoid species that appeared on Honarth around 12,000 years after the arrival of humans. They have different colored skin, ranging from dark green to crimson or dark orange, and darkened spots appear on their skin as they age. They share the same culture and societal traits as humans and there is no segregation of species.Droids
Droids are not organic sentient beings but are highly evolved and personable AI modules. They come in various sizes and shapes, but all of them are constructed for specific purposes, like labor, commerce, and even companionship. They have no society as such but are integrated into human and cadonian society and are treated as second class citizens.Relations
Humans , Cadonians , and Droids coexist in Honarth, but there are some cultural and societal differences between them. Humans and Cadonians have a positive relationship, while Droids are treated as second-class citizens by some.Character Creation
When creating a character, players will need to consider their species and how it will affect their character's backstory, abilities, and interactions with other characters. It's important to note that in Honarth, there are no racial bonuses or penalties. However, species do have certain unique characteristics and abilities that will affect gameplay. For Game Masters
As a Game Master, it's important to consider the dynamics between the different species in your campaign. Characters of different species may have different motivations and goals, and this can lead to interesting conflicts and story arcs. Additionally, it's important to be mindful of the societal and cultural differences between the different species when creating NPCs and designing encounters. The dynamic relations of Honarth's citizens are more thoroughly examined in the Introduction to the People of Honarth and subsequent articles where each class of Honarth's inhabitants is reviewed, from politicians and corporate tie-ups to the Faceless, the vast majority of the neglected low-class people of Honarth.
