Strongspine's Mine
A magic item from the Elderdays, Strongspine's Mine is an object of Ardon design that desires that all fortresses, defences and lands be returned to the Void.
Any one Strongspine's Mine can be aligned to a creature spending one minute holding the Mine in quiet contemplation (i.e. no movement, no actions, no bonus actions, no reactions, no interaction with the world around them) and making a DC 12 constitution save at the end of the contemplation (no automatic save, inspiration or other benefit to be used).
On a failure the creature takes magical bludgeoning damage equal to two x the creatures proficiency bonus, which cannot be prevented or redirected.
On a successful savings throw the aligned creature takes a -1 to all attacks, savings throws and proficiency checks until the Mine is activated. A maximum number of Strongspine's Mines equal to half a creature's proficiency (round down) may be aligned to any creature at any time
An aligned creature may use an action to activate a Strongspine's Mine. The Mine gains a weight of 1,000 lb and on the next inititaive count of the aligned creature detonates and deals the following damage, with triple damage being dealt to all objects, constructs and machines (ignoring all damage reduction):
- Within 5" radius deal magical bludgeoning damage proficiency bonus of aligned creature x d10
- Within 5" radius deal magical piercing damage proficiency bonus of aligned creature x d10
- Aligned creature takes damage equal to one half of damage dealt within 5", which cannot be prevented or redirected
- Within 5" to 30" radius deal magical bludgeoning damage proficiency bonus of aligned creature x d4
- Within 5" to 30" radius deal magical piercing damage proficiency bonus of aligned creature x d4
