Should've listened to the Gnome?
General Summary
Emerging from the Bridge Chamber inside the Gates of Ashibi, the BMG emerge onto that ancient rainforest hilltop where 500 years ago three young girls found an open doorway to the Wyrding and are buffeted on the swirls and bustle of arcane flows from the Wyrding, crashing through remembered location to remembered location to remembered location.
Essen's whole being is battered with the horror of eternal loss, entrapment, sickening madness and the undeniable knowledge of the end, all she calculates is emanating from the Wyrding.
The Wyrding is an inverted echo of Holocene with the BMG emerging, not on a an echo mountaintop but in a deep valley wetlands filled with carbiniferous artifacts, fauna and flora.
Periodically there is a reshift and millions of tiles turn over to change the world, a plane in constant change, responding to emotion and chaos. Overwhelmed with love Essen hugs a pair of Psaronius, plants ever encountered on or have existed on Holocene. Dwayne is overcome by sadness, Gundark is infiltrated with even more anger and Gimblenock thinks the others have lost their mind.
Another Psaronius emerges, grabs hold of Essen, lifting her into the air with the other two in full embrace, Dwayne attacks the Psaronius which tile changes its back to hardened shark skin, Gimblenock flies up to Essen, Dwayne stops Gundark attacking the tree again and Gimblenock catches Essen as the fern trees tile change into the Wyrding, leaving her 30 geet in the air.
The Minor Loa Taji appears and forms around Gimblenock demanding the Dissipator. Taji spends two rounds unsuccesfully attempting to grab hold of Gimblenock before trying to do real damage while Gimblenock dashes, tumbles and evades Taji. The others also get involved in fending off an increasingly frustrated Icon level being, taking psychic damage from Retaliation actions. Perplexed at its defeat at the hands of mere Hero level powers in its own domain, Taji tile changes with an unfolding and in a thousand langauges complains that "Geele has this wrong."
After hours of walking trekking the deep valley depths of the Wyrding, enclosed by toweringly steep mountains and beneath pale ribbons of light racing beneath an everchanging sunset sky, the BMG are ambushed by a Phyrexian Chitinous Horror, Phyrexian Negator, Phyrexian Apostle, Phyrexian Broodlings and Phyrexian Censor (with others in tow with the Faceless Masters) about to enter the fray.
A brutal, crushing slugfest kicks off, within moments an incandescent red shape punctures the sky with such speed the sonic boom reach the ground well after the red shape.
Splitting the party, the BMG get stuck into the different opponents with the Gnome musing, "I don't think this is a winnable fight, maybe we should retreat or get out of here" at least once a turn.
Unperturbed, the slugfest contnues with Essen going all emperor palpintine on the chitinous horror being swarmed by nine phyrexi broodlings and dying.
Gundark has so far made two special "just keep on fighting" rolls after being reduced beneath zero on multiple occassions, and on 11HP Dwayne grabs Essen's corpse and dimension doors away, while Gimblenock (who continues to tiptoe without consequence on the plans of gods) grabs Grundark, turns invisible and straining immensely flies away to where Dwayne has gone.
The red shape is a dangerous red cube - Geele! - and is getting closer, and the red cube in Essen's pocket is glowing bright. Essen stands on the shores of the sunless sea and sees a brief flicker of red and hears "talk to me"
"I don't think this is a winnable fight, maybe we should retreat or get out of here"
