Planet Anaconda

Overview
  • Trapped on the Anaconda World (4th world of the Alin) the BMG are trying to find a way to deactivate the AoE
  • This AoE will be activated once the first 3 worlds AoE are activated
  • Servants of the Titans are already beginning to congregate
  • The Alin Heirarchs are beginning to stir

  • Alin
  • For the last 4,500 years the Alin have existed in a state of total war with undead, white wasps and other cosmic horrors.
  • Their society has gone backwards, is more martial, more structured and entirely xenophobic with other races entirely viewed as livestock, tools or vermin.
  • Those that have survived are cold, battle-hardened xenophobes desperately seeking a way to escape the undeath and horrors that grow closer every moment.
  • Survivors are in Pact with the Great Old One Karsus Chella Chella and have used this power to contact and enter an uneasy alliance with the Mirror Host in a desperate effort to return to Holocene.
  • Holocene is the one world that has viable Breeding Reservoirs and are needed to replenish the dying Alin, most of whom are in stasis
  • It has taken the Major Discontinuance Event to allow the 12 Alin Worlds to recontact the rest of existence
  • The greatest of the Alin are demi-gods known as Patrons
  • The original Patrons were Ascended Alin who grew in power under the influence of the Horned God, most were destroyed during the Fall
  • Their alliance with the Helegu is simply a pretence for invasion and subjugation
  • It will take years before the Alin can bring all their forces to bear, and begrudgingly they must allow their “allies” a free hand, including following and obeying their instruction (both the Titans and the Helegu)
  • The Amphitheatre of Entanglement on all 13 Alin worlds was the single major point of connectivity of the core empire but deactivated when the last Major Discontinuance Event collapsed.
  Patrons
  • Patrons were/are demigods and each are in deep slumber, there were 13 but there are now only 4, each on the first 4 worlds
  • Heirarchs are the rulers of the Alin
  • Xerarchs are the reality manipulators of the Alin
  • Vatar are the elite warriors of the Alin, sworn to the Patrons
  • Matrons are the caretakers of the Breeding Reservoirs
  • Technocrats are the machine building elite of the Alin
  • Naborias are any slave race
  • Moxikos are the slavers/raiders
  • Panik Corp are the hive warriors
  • Char Binders are magicians, not yet powerful enough to be called Xerarchs
  • Govoritek are the heralds and emissaries of the Alin Expanse
  • Avtomat Avtomat

  • Anaconda World circles a red star, with darkened sky, bitter days and long dangerous nights
  • Void ropes, created by White Wasps drift across the shattered world
  • The earth is crisscrossed with Dhole tunnels and is collapsing in many places
  • Disused Alin dwellings and machines (such as War Machines), where not collapsed into sink holes, destroyed by war or time or overcome by landscape dot the landscape
  • Prominent structures like the Breeding Resevoirs and Patron Shrines remain intact, even if fallen into disrepair

  • Intrusions from the Spaces is frequent
  • Access to the other eleven Alin worlds is possible (though dangerous) by normal means, including interstellar access
  • With the Major Discontinuance Event, it is now possible to access worlds outside the Alin Twelve

  • There are long dormant Elder Things hidden in caverns beneath prominent Alin structures.
  • As the original architects and engineers of the AoE, if a being can communicate with one of the long dormant (and in many cases dead and desiccated) they may reveal something of their origins
  • The BMG didn't get to this part

  • Most of the Anaconda Alin have been "passenger" and then "sequestered" within void vessels and will be activated when the AoE is activated or a Xerarch Bell is tolled

  • The Phyrexi currently on the Anaconda World are sworn to the Titans of Karsus Chella.
  • This Elderday race serves as the eyes and ears for the Titans and Karsus Chella, though they operate with freedom on the world.
  • Their primary objectives are to ensure the Alin maintain their Pact, to ensure the AoE are activated and destroy anything they deem a threat
  • Phyrexi and Alin clashes are common
  • Other creatures attracted to the AoE (even if they don’t know why they’re attracted to it), mostly temporarily include Argos, Dholes, Hunting Horrors, Beholders, Dark Youn, Byakhee, Chthonian, Deep Ones, Zithleb (Dimensional Shamblers), Yakhiogi (Flying Polyp), Formless Spawn, Tindalos, Ithaqua and other interdimensional horrors from the Great Beyond.
  • Frequently Elderday beings will also feel drawn to vicinity of the AoE.

  • The barriers that trapped the Alin Worlds were not an impairment to Dragons, who have always been able to access them.
  • Dragons observe, gather intelligence and move pieces on the board of the great game for their own purposes, but typically will not engage with the denizens of these worlds
  • You all met Ashavanti Gagan Akaval, the Ancient Red Dragon and her most recent brood of great great hatchlings
  • She had more than 900HP and AC 28 and MR, BUT she didn't want to draw attention to her possessions, but she will seek you out later

  • Xivvians have established massive hive concentrations away from the Alin and Phyrexi concentrations, with vast numbers frequently migrating the decaying world
  • Xivvians are more of a pest than an existential threat to the Alin on this world, mostly because of the presence of other creatures that frequently hunt and kill them for sustenance
  • On their homeworld and Alin Ten, they exist in such vast numbers without the Alin who subjugated them tens of thousands of years ago, they exist in dangerous mega swarms
  Breeding Reservoirs
  • Dried out breeding reservoirs are found in great number near the AoE
  • Desiccated entry structures crumble above ground
  • Great Beyond terrors lurk within, including a school of ancient Aboleths who swim through the memory of the Breeding Reservoirs where they once dwelt as guardians and parasites, useful to the Alin Matrons, but dangerous and untrustworthy without constant supervision and fear of deadly reprisal.
  • These Aboleths have access to Elderday magic and secrets of the Elder Things, including where the architecture of the AoE are hidden
  • Breeding Stems
  Megastructure
  • The Void broils furiously above the megastructure
  • The beast Golra Ugosie lurks at its edges, watching the breaking of this world
  • Titans servants prowl the corridors and hallways and vents of the Megastructure, anything not a servant of the Titans is immediately set upon
  • The AoE is always out of phase (inside the Spaces) in the zeroth dimension.
  • It must be fully initiated to chain-link to other initiated AeO/s
  • The entry gate is a Suprurr Gnome machine, not part of the Elder Thing Design
  • The Suprurr Machine if activated allows access to the out of phase AoE, even if not chain-linked to any other AoE
  • When chain-linked to other AeO/s, an occupant can, if in the correct location/s access any of the entangled locations.
  • The chamber containing the phased AoE sits in the centre of the Megastructure
  • The living metal statues either side to the Suprurr Gnome Chamber door
  • A Blackflame Crucible in a gnome shrine dedicated to Gond in the form of Flandal Steelskin inside the megastructure.
  • Patron Sars Nephaetos is in stasis beneath the Hierarch Bell
  • Tau Xenon is the Hierarch
  • Three Xerarchs and their attendants are active preparing the way for Patron Sars Nephaestos. The Xerarchs have seen the movement in the stars and know that their time is near. The three Xerarchs are X Hastrippe, X Zadrora and X Chounides (all Xerarchs are 20th level minimum)
  • Each Xerarch is attended by 2 veteran Vatar, 4 skilled Vatar and 12 novice Vatar
  • The AoE always remains out of phase
  • Entry gates to the Megastructure
  • The Void Vessels are scattered in dark holding pits beneath the Megastructure and are tended by the despairing matron, Mars Lariphus and her brood.
  • There are five chambers each containing 10,000 Void Vessels, with more than 60,000 Alin passengers in each chamber
  • Features of the Megastructure:
  • Hallways
  • Elder Thing Shrines containing the designs of the AoE of the Anaconda World including the Elder Thing chant & ritual required to phase to the AoE
  • It is a Suprurr Gnome machine that is the access chamber in the central amphitheatre
  • One of the 13 Engines of the AoE
  • Time Chamber
  • A miniature of an enclosure inside the AoE
  • Pulse Generator
  • The story of their creation and later, use by the Alin
  • Spear Tip of the Titan Zeverus
  • Yurlunggur Spawn Skeleton
  • Illusory Livytan chasing giant squid, sharks and sea serpents
  • Illusory destruction visited by Karsus Chella
  • Amphitheatre of Entanglement
  • The AoE were created the Elder Things millions of years ago and exist as a probability in the Spaces adjacent to many worlds known by the Elder Things.
  • AoE can be chain-linked and when chain-linked occupy the same space of the others also linked and activated.
  • The Alin mapped 13 amphitheatres, linking these worlds together as their “home worlds” with varying degree of control on each world.
  • Holocene was the 13th world and was discovered shortly after the last great Civil War that would eventually destroy the Expanse had begun. Those Alin allied with the Carkade.
  • During the Alin Expanse the Alin discovered some of the AoE on worlds they travelled to or occupied. They only located a small number of the AoE and were eventually able to activate some of those they discovered tapping into Elder Thing Arcana and using the Tech Sorcerers of Suprurr.
  • The fall of the Alin and the ending of the last major Discontinuance Event broke the AoE
  • The Axis Gnomes of Jydengiss have spent decades communing with the insentient Elder Thing Minds within the Green Comets and have learned how to use the Green Comets to reactivate their machines.
  • The AoE on Holocene has been controlled by the Mirror Host for years in anticipation of the return of the Alin, who have worked with the Axis Gnomes to get it ready for the return of the Green Comets
  • The activation of the Holocene AoE has sent a pulse to the sister AoE on the First Twelve Alin Worlds. Each activation sends a pulse to the next AoE, the Anaconda AoE is the 4th world to be activated.
  • These pulses will take the form of borealis ribbons that will lash the worlds for thousands of kilometres.
  • When activated and connected the central AoE chamber will be in the same time/space on each of the activated worlds and accessing the correct portal, allows a creature to exit onto another world.
  • Anaconda World AoE is guarded by a Chitinous Horror and its 4 pet Phyrexi Horrors
  • The Chitinous Horror always has a Phyrexi Negator in its service
  • The Elder Thing Chamber was accessed by the BMG, you accessed previously hidden (i.e. no creature was able to access the chamber and its secrets) discovering blueprints to thirteen different types of AoE - all the known AoE are one design - although only four designs were immediately decipherable
  • Using Plane Shift, the BMG fled, pursued by angry Alin who want what they now possess (plus some more)

Plot points/Scenes

"With the weapons of the Horned God and my fierce battle array I turned back the enemy and made them retreat.   I quickly defeated and slaughtered the Kings of all the Naborias together with their magnates who wore jewellery like fattened bulls.   Restrained with chains I slit their throats like sheep and cut off their precious lives like thread.   Like a flood after a thunderstorm, I made their blood flow over the broad earth.   With swift beasts pulling my chariot, the land."
