Meekstone

A magic item from the Elderdays, meekstones bring dread to the powerful and give hope to the meek.   A meekstone cannot be attuned or controlled by any creature.   All meekstone effects are cumulative from round to round.   A "success" adds one level of effect, while a failure removes one level of effect.   If any combat occurs within 120" of a meekstone the following occurs on the initiative count of 30 of each subsequent round and impacts all creatures within 240".

All creatures make an initial DC 12 savings throw against its strongest savings throw (this savings throw can change once a creature is impacted - see below) and any effects:

  1. (Level One) Any savings throws and ability checks made by the creature suffers a penalty of half zis proficiency bonus (round down) - DC is now 13
  2. (Level Two) Any attack made by the creature suffers a penalty of half zis proficiency bonus (round down)
  3. (Level Three) The creature's movement is reduced by one third (round down)
  4. (Level Four) All damage dealt by the creature (magical, mundane or otherwise) is reduced by one quarter (round up) - DC is now 14
  5. (Level Five) The creature's AC suffers a penalty of half zis proficiency bonus (rounded up)
  6. (Level Six) Any savings throws and ability checks made by the creature suffers a penalty of zis proficiency bonus - DC is now 15
  7. (Level Seven) Any attack made by the creature suffers a penalty of zis proficiency bonus (round down)
  8. (Level Eight) The creature's movement is reduced by an additional one third (round up)
  9. (Level Nine) All damage dealt by the creature (magical, mundane or otherwise) is reduced by an additional one quarter (round down) - DC is now 16
  10. (Level Ten) The creature's AC is reduced zis proficiency bonus by a maximum of six
  11. (Level 11+) No change to effects, however takes more failures or time outside the area of effect to recover (each additional 2 levels increases the DC by one)
  Once outside of the effect of the meekstone, a creature reduces the impact level by One for each three turns that is uneffected.
