Dwayne saves Essen with 'Charm based telekinesis'.   Gundark saves Ophion from falling.   Dwayne holds action for now.   Ophion takes yet another deal - D12 Fireball. Auto-Crit against a family member in future. Volt is involved somehow.   Fireballs the previously wounded Star Spawn. 48 damage. Star Spawn recoils. The party feels a brief moment of recoil. Gundark sees ice form and flow off Ophion.   Gimblenock returns to party from floating in the void. Casts Firebolt at wounded Spawn. Miss.   Damaged Spawn Dimension Doors 500 feet away.   Remaining Spawn uses Psychic Scream. 24 for all bar Gundark (49 and STUNNED). Ophion uses Hellish Rebuke for 13 Fire Damage.   Essen casts Call Lightning at level 8. 23 damage after Legendary Resistance. Spawn responds with Inflict Madness. Essen takes a deal to avoid insanity.   Gundark moves behind Star Spawn and attacks. Misses with both attacks.   Ophion refuses an offer. The universe disagrees with this choice. Attempts to hit it with a Witch Bolt. Misses.   Gimblenock offered the knowledge to built an Apocalypse weapon - Vendril Cannon. Refuses. Moves to symbol of Arcetuthes. 31 Investigation check.   Star Spawn attacks Gundark. 1 Crit. 5 normal. 70 damage after Raging Barbarian nonsense. Claw attacks next. Grappled by three tentacles.   "GET US OUT OF HERE!" Architeuthis offers Essen three choices.

Party sees Essen become a golden statue for a second.   Essen takes the second option. DC 11 checks on worst Mental check. Gundark fails. 2 levels of Exhaustion. Falls into a field. 31 stones on the ground. Sky is a deep amber.   Essen and Gimblenock see something moving in a tree. It looks at them. A dark blue steam coils out of the creatures mouth. Thing in the tree is a gargantuan hominid. Dark features.   Investigation of the 31 rocks. Essen describes tree creature to the rest. It's a Sorne (see previous notes - Creators of the first Atlantis)   Ophion makes connections to Yurlunggur. Will always be able to discern things related to Yurlunggur.   Essen walks towards the trees, Picnic at Hanging Rock shenanigans ensue.   Gimblenock uncovers the symbol of a forgotten Elder God. Symbol resembles an egg with a line through it. Relates to one of the two crumblig statues from the previous session.

Ophion knows it's one of the current 13. Hers sound similar to an elephant.

Essen is in the shade of the trees. Gundark tells party of the Sorne on the tree. The light darkens around Essen. Shadow hands emerge from the trees and stroke her.   All but Gimblenock chase Essen. Dwayne runs in another direction.   Gundark and Ophion keep chasing. Essen turns into a panther. Floating inspiration for 'The Distance' joke. Gundark takes it for Dwayne to use.   Gundark catches up to Dwayne, who is fighting branches.   Ophion gives up the chase as Essen runs into the dark. Summons party using Fairie Fire.   Essen goes further into the trees. Perfect darkness now. Sees something cross legged. Four digits on each hand. Prayer pose. Looks at Essen.

Essen replicates pose in front of it. Glacial cold from behind her. Comes from a multi-limbed creature that absorbs heat. Ice Devil.

It's intent for Essen is purely...biological.   Dwayne piggybacks Gundark   FLASHBACK TO SRG - Zanji, capital of Semudan. The Sovreign Row. Things exploded. Caused the arrival of The Revelation   The Sorne are the trees!   Essen casts Sunbeam at the Ice Devil. Redirects to Ophion. Essen is seeing Ophion as the Ice Devil. Ophion takes 13 Radiant damage. Forgives her.   Thing in the cave is one of the first non-Elder God beings.   Essen asks it why Atlantis was built.   Others here Axiander, a Goreo. The one heard previously asking if we'd been paying attention.
