Gramidern's Millstone
A magic item from the Elderdays, Gramidern's Millstone puritanical desire is for nothing more than to bring pain to those who speak to the universe in a way it cannot resist - magicians.
Gramidern's Millstone cannot be attuned or controlled by any creature.
If any creature casts a spell or uses a magical item within 60" of Gramidern's Millstone the following occurs from the initiative count of 30 of each subsequent round and impacts all creatures within 300" who cast spells or use magical items to create a magical spell like effect:
- Magician/creature must make a savings throw of DC 10 + level of the spell (using the relevent stat for spell casting - e.g. intelligence for wizards, wisdom for clerics, strength for fighters) or take magical bludgeoning damage = the spells level + 1
- On a success, damage is reduced by half (round up)
- If a magician/creature activates a concentration effect use step 1 and 2 above
- If a creature wields passive magic that comes into effect (e.g. magic weapon is used or magic armour is attacked) step 1 and 2 above are used (typically each +1 counts as a spell level)
- Gramidern's Millstone becomes inactive when no spells are cast or magical items used within 300" for a period of 24 hours
