Holo

"In the beginning, the Line conquered the heavens and the land. Now the land was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the first incarnation of Luminarius was hovering over the sands. And Luminarius said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. The Line saw that the light was good, and they separated the light from the darkness. They called the land the light touched the Hylic, and the darkness, the Aylic."   It has been countless generations since the divine lineage of the Line has posited itself as god and ruler over Holo. In this land where Hy - the sun - never sets lies the little havens of civilization under the Line's protection. All beings on Holo provide purpose to the continued light of the Line and the eternal war against the eldritch mass - Aoa - seeking to reclaim the lands the Line stole in time immorial. But despite the stained glass gardens and the crystaline beauty that makes up civilization, all is not well. There is a limited amount of work to be done, and in a world where one's worth is defined by their purpose to the Line, having naught to do is akin to a death sentence. The people fight through mind games, subjugation, and cloak and dagger tactics to ensure they are the ones the Line deems to have purpose. And in their quest to ensure personal relevance, the masses are quick to forget the abomination lurking just beyond their boarders, waiting to reclaim what It has lost.   Act as a political leader, a laborer in the mines, a practicioner of divine magic, an agent who survives on their own in the desert wastes, the world is your oyster. But no matter what you do, where you go, what you achieve, remember one thing: The Line is always watching.
