Golden Mangrove
Held sacred by the Elvish communities of the south, particularly the old conclaves at Pinelake to Birchlake.
These strange, mystical trees seem to have some connection to the elemental plane of water, as they are able to generate fresh water from their roots or even purify the water they grow in.

Elven Rite of Sheil'Herran (New Waters)
As part of a sacred rite, a procession of acolytes must transport a sappling from Pinelake to Birchlake, or Vice Versa.
Once a year the two villages exchange a special tree sappling to bind the villages together, unfortunately, these magical sapplings can be sold on the black market or in desert lands for huge sums of gold, and as such there are sometimes people who wish to slay the procession and obtain the tree. As such, the acolytes travel under cover of darkness, or even nder guard.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
The roots of a golden mangrove actually magically generate clean, drinkable water as long as the tree remains healthy.
The tree can also take in poluted, brackish or otherwise unclean water and slowly purify it, releasing fresh water as a byproduct.
