Session III - Duck, Duck, SHARK! Report

The crew once again in open waters have a fairly uneventful few days sailing out into the uncharted western seas.   Boredom setting in, Leksha takes to the crows nest to see if there's anything of interest in the open waters. It appears just north of them, she can see guls circling the carcass of a wrecked ship, it's mast and sails laying torn and tattered in the water beside it.   Deciding to weigh anchor and investigate Leksha, Waverider and Vivasse along with the Captain make it onto the wreck.   Delving into the flooded belly of the ship, Leksha and Waverider find a few small treasures but also the source of the movement they had witnessed before landing on the ship. Hunter sharks.   Wave rider manages to make it out of the water but is savagely attacked before he makes it onto the deck, dropping the chest he was carrying in the process. Surbiene seeing this and not content to let treasure go, he vaults over the circling sharks, attacking them and splashing in next to the chest managing to stop it from sinking back into the Briney depths. With the sharks now enraged, Surbiene is mercilessly attacked and shredded as the crew work together to pull him out. Vivasse flying down to help push him out of the water.   As the Captain and Vivasse try to move away from the surface, the two sharks take their last opportunity to secure a snacc. Ripping Vivasse from the air, and tearing Surbs legs to shreds. Surb is pulled onto the ship and lays broken and exhausted, Waverider deciding to secure the treasure instead of Vivasse.   As the sharks circle to rip Vivasse limb from limb, Surbiene uses the last of his strength to use a last resort tactic, calling forth a strange eleven woman named Vontessa to save Vivasse.   Vontessa seems content to help in such a trivial matter as a pact has now been formed and once again Surbiene is indebted to her.   She raises Vivasse from the water on a pillar of ice as Leksha tries to bring the rowboat around for a getaway, the boat however becomes the new target for the sharks.   Surbiene uses a small health potion stored in his belt to revive Vivasse, whilst Vontessa showers the sharks with her powerful magic. In the process sinking the rowboat and pummeling Leksha along with the sharks with large shards of Ice.   The sharks eventually taken care of by the party, Vontessa leaves to the ship to request they come and pick up their broken comrades.   All are brought aboard and nursed to health. Vivasse and Leksha deciding to tap one of the kegs of rum for the night and enjoy their being alive.   They invite Natari to join them, who proceeds to make his servant join the revelry in his place, the poor drunk man proceeds to tell Natari what he thinks of him and for his "crimes" against the huge northerner is thrown off the back of the ship.... no-one helps him.   A day passes and Surbiene is forced to admit that having Vontessa aboard is not an ideal situation, it's in fact anything but, she now believes she has a pact with the crew for saving her life, and that they must now retrieve an artefact whilst in this part of the world for her.
