Treaty of Evermoore Forest

This treaty signifies the everlasting peace between a Green Dragon and some of the early founders of Silverymoon regarding a plot of land near the confluence of the Evermoores, and the forest to the Southeast of what would become Silverymoon.
Originally, the green dragon has claimed a large swath of land that included the forest and areas around it. However, after many years, human, elf and dwarf travelers have started to encroach on the land, causing noise, scaring the dragons food sources and generally being a nuisance to it.
Eventually, the dragon decided to parlay with the interlopers determining it was best to sort out this annoyance while still coming out ahead in the long run.
The treaty has the Green Dragon cede all areas north of the river, a place the dragon deems strategically, spiritually, and geologically worthless. The dragon grants the coalition exclusive rights to settle and govern the area in perpetuity, with a clause that they may not expand further into the dragon's territory. In return, the kingdoms agree to stop all trespassing, tribute demands, or map-making that includes the rest of the dragon's territory. Additionally a ceremonial gift was exchanged (a banner of the green dragon created to signify the event).
The coalition of Humans dwarfs and elves celebrated this achievement, as they saw it a great victory over a feared dragon.
  • “We forced the dragon to negotiate.”
This treaty is touted as the first time the dragon has ever bent the knee to diplomacy. It’s heralded as proof that their unity could bring even ancient terrors to the table.
  • “We gained land without war.”
The granted territory was only really ideal for settling farmers in the vicinity of Silverymoon. Nevertheless it’s politically valuable back home.
  • “It’s a symbol of our strength.”
Statues, poems, and songs are commissioned commemorating the treaty, shaping early Silverymoon into the cultural hub that it is today.
  • “The dragon fears us now.”
Even though this is completely untrue, rumors spread that the dragon is retreating, wounded, or unwilling to face the coalition’s military might.
No matter what the coalition thought however, the Green Dragon was able to live without interference from the population of Silverymoon for quite some time.
