Floatin' Floyd the Flumph

Floatin' Floyd Frizzlefunk

The renowned mascot of the The Flump Zone and corporate mascot of Flump Zone LLC, "Floatin' Floyd the Flumph"has an air of regal splendor in what would normally be a plain tourist trap.
Based on the original Flumph that was encountered by Alan Shae-far, Floyd has become a caricature of a normal Flumph. With all his features greatly emphasized to cartoonish levels, Floyd's resemblance to an actual Flumph is almost accidental at this point.
Additionally, over the years, tiny trickles of lore have come from Mr. Shae-far about Floyd, such as more of his backstory from his home planet of Flumph-topia, the fact that he used to be a space captain before a wild comet crashed into his space-flumph causing him to crash down on Toril, and that his last name is Frizzlefunk, but that hasn't been published in any of the Flump Zone merchandise in over 35 years.
Now Floatin' Floyd is the first thing travelers see from miles around when they're near the Flump Zone, with his likeness made into a giant observation tower. Additionally, his likeness, along with his arch nemesis Morton the Mind-Flayer, is slatherd on every type of merchandise though possible. From shot-glasses, shirts and sandals to suitcases, spellbooks and ship sails: Floatin' Floyd is on it.

Personal history

Floyd was originally created as a napkin sketch by Alan Shae-far and Hoe Scratch late at night during a drinking session at a Waterdeep bar. Alan metioned his run in with a Flumph and the episode he experienced during the psionic event. Hoe Scratch, seeing the opportunity before him told Alan to quickly sketch out the Flumph as he saw it. From that point on, Alan and Hoe Scratch went back and forth scribbling different versions of what would become Floatin' Floyd.
The original napkin sketches are not out for display to the general public, as Alan chose to keep the pictures close to his desk in his office as a reminder to cooperation between him and Hoe Scratch.
Eventually, they settled on the initial design of Floyd, which was a simplistic pink Flumph with a pair of large eye-stalks. Over the course of years however, there were minor revisions here and there on Floyd's design, adjusting his shape and size until eventually he became the shape that he is today.
