Lissigen

Lissigen is the capital caity of the Kingdom of Salternia and the ancestral home of its ruling dynasty, the Rhiost family, as well as the home to the the current King of Salternia, King Fendegar Rhiost.   Lissigen's most impressive feature is the royal palace with its many towers and sprawling palaca gardens, that are home to the great maze of Lissigen.

Infrastructure

The city is home to the greatest and most impressive buildings in all of Salternia, but also to the most seedy background alleys in the kingdom. In terms of population, it is only the secon dlargest city after Lorsen. Nevbertheless, the city is bursting at the seams and during the day, when the streets are busy the roads and alleys prove to narrow to fit all the visitors, vendors, workers and passerbys. The city has a great and imprenetable outer wall, that now has to stay open during the day so that many people can take their businesses outside, because space inside the walls has gotten to small. Inside the walls, the city is structed very orderly and in a logical manner, with clearly designated main streets for special purposes, such as taverns and inns, businesses and workshops, and governing and city watch. These main streets run all along inside the walls and in five ways towards a grand marketpalce in the middle. All smaller alleys between these main streets lead to the living quarters of the inhabitants of Lissingen. The main streets are neatly cobbled while the side alleys are made up of packed dirt pavement. Navigating the city is famously easy, as Lissigen's authorities have placed great importance on labeling everything and placing proper markers for every main street and smaller places and squares.   Aquiring property in Lissingen is almost impossible if one does not have valubale connections somewhere in the authorities in the city. Even in the lowest and seediest of quarters of the city all houses are packed full with many families even choosing to share their spaces and familial duties in one home together rather than brave the city as a single family unit.   Nect to many many inns and taverns in the porper quarter, the city is home to all the guildhouses of Salternia and their overseers, as well as a bank and diplomatic quarter for other nations.   The royal palace lies in the west and is located on a hill overlooking the city and the adjoining countryside.
