Ruther (Ρουθερ)

  Ruther, otherwise known as the Fortune Bringer, is one of the gods of the Underrealm, and second son to Az'ganoth. He is said to offer great fame and fortune for those in desperate need, though the price of his blessing is often more than any mortal could ever pay.
 

History

Ruther has often been compared to pre-cataclysm Djinn, functioning similarily in that he offers that which the worshipper desires most, though should the wish be asked vaguely or should the request not be carefully considered, the result may not be exactly as the worshipper intends, as the wishes tend to be granted in a very literal manner.
In addition to this, should the wisher not uphold their side of the bargain struck with the deity, the interest for such transgression has been known to be very extreme, in some instances had the god requested a grand blood price in return, and in one specific instance, had requested the downfall of an entire city.
    Ruther is the second son of Az'ganoth, brother to the devil lord Dromas. Additionally and also similar to his brother, it is generally believed that it was solely their father that brought them into existence, forming them from darkness similar to how the father of Az'ganoth before him brought about the first gods themselves. For this reason, despite the Underrealm deities not generally being considered gods in their own right, it can be stated that through technicality, the Underrealm gods are indeed gods not unlike their overworld counterparts.
    Ruther and his brother never sired offspring, nor had spouses. Their father held them to being in charge of a great number of his dealings in the overworld, while also leaving them to tend to their respective domains in addition to this.
