Onara (Ονάρα)

"There's only one God we pray to in hopes she stays away. Nothing but death follows in the wake of Affliction herself."
— Unknown
Onara, also known by the name "The Red Death" is the goddess of famine and affliction in the Northern deities pantheon.

History

Conception

In the Era of the Gods, the primary elements were sanctioned to the first children of the Primordial Lords, Order and Chaos. As the gods began to create using the power they were bestowed and mortalkind was incepted to begin roaming the two realms, the need for patrons of new domains grew increasingly in demand, and as the mortals began to face the natural cruelties of the realms they were born into, there became a new reality that mortalkind were forced to endure - the reality that was death.
The responsibility to oversee this inevitable fate was bestowed upon the child of the god of the Cyrulean Waters , Okarin - the patron god of Death.

Worship

Temples

Onara is typically prayed at stone shrines set up around the edges of villages, believed that they should be kept out of the way of homes and places of bustle and daily life for fear that if she arrived to collect her offerings herself she would bring with her pestilance into the heart of towns and villages.
