Elvoran Oni typically choose to take their tribe name as a family name. Otherwise they may refer to themselves by the names of those in their lineage who are most renown. For Example, the Oni named Dolga may be most proud of her mother, Magili, who was an assassin who killed an enemy leader so she may call herself Dolga Magili.

Elvoran Oni prefer to be clean shaven. Among pure Elvoran, facial hair is a non-issue as they lack the genes for it, but those of mixed heritage are expected to be clean shaven in Elvoran dominated communities. Blue skin is considered the most attractive skin tone, while green is considered the least attractive, though it is rarely a point of discrimination, save for when looking for romantic partners. Skin toned horns are typically considered more attractive than non-skin toned horns, but all horns should be properly cared for and not appear dull.

Gender ideals may vary from tribe to tribe but as a rule Elvoran cultures are egalitarian. When there is a difference, women are expected to be magic wielders, spiritual leaders, and hunters. On the contrary men will be expected to be militant and craftsmen. Some Elvoran tribes believe women pass on their minds while men pass on their bodies to their children.   Those who do not fall on the binary spectrum may be seen as a gift because they are beyond the confines of gender tied to flesh or their flesh is beyond the confines of gender. How tribes interpret them varies greatly between tribe and the individual in question. A nonbinary individual with a creative streak may be seen as a cultural gift or spiritual leader, while someone else with more physical talents may be looked to as a military leader who has been given the gift of a strategic mind and a strong body. Usually they will simply apply great expectations to the individuals known talents.

When courting a person of interest, Elvoran Oni may seek to show off the best of themselves which aligns with their gender ideal or their role in the tribe. For example a male member of the Kkokai Clan may offer the target of his affection a boat he crafted. If the target of their affection also excels at the thing they do, the Oni might instead seek to seduce them through some other means.    The aim of the seduction also matters, as casual intimacy is common in most Oni clans. If they want to seduce purely for a night of pleasure, then they would show off their physical forms through movement and glances as opposed to gift giving.

Most of the Elvoran Oni see mating or marriage to be a matter of finding their other half, someone to perfectly balance their weaknesses with strengths. They may take other spouses, but there is only one who they will view as an equal partner their entire life.
