Merovund

Summary

  Pull up a seat friend! Welcome to Merovund! Perhaps the cherriest state in the realm, Merovund is well known for two things. Its drink, and its adventurers. Merovund is not without its dangers however, it borders the fey and many a traveler has wandered into the woods only to come out changed and confused. Monsters lurk its forests, wildernesses well know to be almost impossible to navigate in places. Merovund is also home to a series of guilds. The Mythral Minstrels (Bard Guild) and the Adventures guild are both present.  

Religion

  Morevund is a country fascinated with the Drunken Hero God Cayden. He is admired and revered by many Morevund citizens and is looked at almost more like a role model than a proper god. Still his clerics and clergy are highly present in the country.

Demographics

Merovund is primarily Halflings with a good amount of Fey-kin and Humans making a close third. Gnomes, Dwarves, and Orcs are also present.

Government

Merovund is ruled by a monarch, and that monarch is always an individual of both mortal and fey bloodline. It is a tradition that spread back to Merovunds founding and has been followed ever since.

History

Formed by settlers from Leonia, Merovund society begun on a rocky start. Unable to quell the horde of monsters at their door, the mortals who settled there made a deal with a fey lord who wandered that land. He ensured their protection if, and only if the Merovundian government swore to always be lead by someone with Feyish blood, ensuring that his people would have a foothold in the mortal world forever.

Geography

Merovund is comprised of nearly impenetrable forests. The wilderness of Merovund is home many a monster, legend, and myth.
