It came time for Roland to recieve his blade. His training as a innate was over and now he would receive his paladin mantle. A blade made by Culnotto, a legendary blade smith. Culnotto was also a wise man and wished to ensure test Roland. So he told him he had two blades and he would let Roland choos, after watching a test. Culnotto took Roland to the streamand stuck two blades inside. The first blade, Velcade, cut everything that pasted. Fish, leaves, rocks. Anything that touched its blade was split in two. Watching it Culnotto remarked that it was perhaps the sharpest blade he had ever made. But Rolands eyes were upon the other sword. Durandel. The sword cut nothing. Fish rubbed against it and leaves bounced off. Quickly Roland snatched it up and proclaimed it the finest blade ever made. For a sword that can cut is useful. But a sword that knows when to cut is perfection.
