Baldr

Summary

One of the four Gods born in the Age of Hero's Baldr is the god of bravery and battle. He is a fearless warrior but unlike his mother values hero's over villains. Baldr holds bravery in the face of danger as his favorite attribute, championing those who would put themselves against certain death and will often give them boons regardless of result. Baldr also loves songs and will often spread the Ode's of worthy hero's far and wide for all to hear.    

Followship

A Hero god, Baldr is worshiped by many adventures and soldiers but also by minstrels and bards as well. Several artist also call to Baldr especially those who are persecuted for their works. No particular race folks to Baldr but worship of him is widely accepted among many races and many cultures.  

History

Baldr is the son of Morrigan. He was gift the domains of battle and bravery from his mother. He spent much of his early godhood as a berserker, a fearless warrior who would kill his mothers foes. This changed when he fell in love with a mortal woman, a Valkyrie who was a follower of his mother. He watched over her day and night and wrote tales of her battles, enthralled with her beauty and her might. One day she fought in a battle that she could not win, Baldr pleaded with his mother not to take her, to spare her life, but she would not listen. Baldr was maddened with grief and gave up his godhood, travelling many years as a mortal mercenary. He became a hero and fought in the war of heros as well as being one of the three who ascended in the divine triad deal. It is not know how or what baldr did to earn this ascension. Taking his divinity he re-ascended and became Baldr the Brave, now a god equal to his mother.
