Aglath Alm

Fayre walks slowly, sadly, into the depths of what remained of her home. She wanders somewhat aimlessly, gazing upon the remains of the forest she spent almost 200 years of her life. She sees the crisp, cracked, and grayed trees that were once green with life and cheer. As tears fall from her round, emerald eyes, Feyre looks to the ground where her tears fall. In the destruction that lays before her, she watches as her tears fall on what looks to be a slight, but strong young oak tree that poked its way through the recently hardened ground of winter. Fayre notices that around this little 2 foot miracle of life there are fresh brown leaves that have recently fallen during the passing of autumn. She gets closer, kneels, and breathes in the fresh scent of newly fallen leaves. She whispers to herself “Aglath alwen” (Glory tree) and slowly stands, still gazing at the new life in front of her. Fayre slowly lifts her head, with new light in her eyes, and no longer focuses on what is dead and gray, but what has pulled itself from the ashes of ruin. Fayre notices new 2-3 foot oak, maple, and pine finding their way to the light that shines above. She sees remnants of gangle berry thickets that have slowly climbed their way up the remnants of ashen tree stumps left behind. And then she hears the songbirds in the air, singing their songs of rejuvenation. She hears the scurrying of squirrels, foraging for food to keep them through the winter, and what sounds like a beaver in the distance, arranging branches on his ever-changing home in the nearby babbling brook. Feyre smiles slightly, feeling peace in her heart as she realizes life is beginning to return and grow in her old home of Gangle Berry forest.   As she looks over her beloved home, she feels renewed energy and strength, and promises to herself that she will complete the mission of building her wealth in order to rebuild what mother nature cannot, so that what’s left of her family can return to what was once her paradise. At any cost, she will succeed.   Fayre then looks to what she knows was once her dwelling. All that is left is a 3 foot wide charred stump, now with gangle berry thicket covering the majority. In front of this, lies 2 stones, chiseled to resemble her beautiful, jovial mother, and her strong, stoic father. Fayre walks purposefully to the graves where she laid her kin to rest and kneels before them. With tears in her eyes, but hope in her heart, she gives herself a moment to remember all the wonderful memories she had with them. She remembers learning to fish with her father, and gathering berries with her mother. She thinks of her mother’s love for helping others view their future and how she has carried on that love, no matter how others may view this practice. She thinks of how grateful she is that her father fed her love for adventure and is grateful for the courage he instilled in her.   She has a moment of silence before she says “Aglath ador (glory father) aglath amil (glory mother)” then stands, looks around, and says “Aglath aidha (glory nest) Aglath alm (glory forest)”.   Fayre then turns to Haven’s Blade and declares “For the love of all that was mine, I am ready to continue on, in order to restore that which cannot be brought back to us by our mother earth.”
