Spell Casting
The process of spell casting is at its core a system of exchanges. Wizards take Augour from Souls in the The Soul Stream. Augour is drained from the soul, which is healed by taking its own augour from the caster. This creates magic injuiries upon a caster which can never be healed unless they borrow from other souls or partake in a Soul Sorce.
Suppresing magic use or not partaking in a Soul Source for a long period of time makes spell casting abilities fade. At the opposite, if magic is overused or abused, it takes more augour everytime and will eventually lead you to be Soulless.

Manifestation
Spell casting is harnessed in two ways, Warding and Tarnishing magic.
Warding magic is used to protect others. Its capable of creating shields of augour or healing wounds in the physical body.
Tarnishing magic is used to destroy others. It usually manifests in black fire or sharp augour.
