Basic Information
Anatomy
Rock Wyrms are muscular, large, wingless, six toed wyrms capable of climbing large mountains due to their muscular legs and backs, able to carry them up large distances quickly and without rest. Their bones are incredibly durable even from a young age. Legend has it that Rock Wyrm Bones can be used for warding charms, as they are seen as unbreakable.
Rock Wyrms have several colorful feathers and vibrant scales. The feathers are used to keep the Wyrm warm in the high altitude enviroments it must endure. Its colors are capable of changing to match the area around it, albeit slowly.

Growth Rate & Stages
Juvenile Rock Wyrms are typically as long as the average human, and it takes them about six months to grow into a young adult. In this time frame, they form the powerful muscles required to climb sheer rock faces and become more independent from their parents.
Young Adult Rock Wyrms grow to be about 20 feet long head to tail and are about six months to two years until they are mature. They learn to live on their own and typically keep to themselves, away from other Wyrms entirely.
Mature Rock Wyrms are about 40 feet head to tail at this age and are at the peak of their mental and physical capacities, they reach maturity at around 2 years and can continue growing and die around one hundred years of age. At this time, they reintroduce themselvese to other Rock Wyrms and typically find a mate soon after this. The biggest a Rock Wyrm has ever gotten is 120 feet head to tail.

Ecology and Habitats
Rock Wyrms typically live upon tall mountains and inside deep caves under cliff overhangs. In the summer, they like to hang outside the front of their caves and sleep like bats, in the winter, they sleep inside hanging upside down.
Despite their massive toothy maws, they are omnivores, eating what they can catch, and sometimes they eat fruit off of trees and berries off of bushes, but they mostly consume large mountain elk, bears, deer, moose, and other large game.

Behaviour
Rock Wyrms are shown to be somewhat intelligent and are capable of remembering animal and human faces, as well as eachother. They can understand when something is trying to help it and or trying to trick it.
Rock Wyrms hunt by waiting on large cliff walls and blending in with their enviroment with their color changing scales. When prey passes underneath, they jump down and crush them into the rock floor, killing them instantly.

Additional Information
Social Structure
Early in life, Rock Wyrms are the priority of their parents, making sure they eat before the mature. As they mature however, they are required to start hunting their own prey and feed themselves. This leads to Young Adults seperating themselves from their parents and surviving for the first two years of their lives until they are mature. After this, they find a mate and the cycle repeats. Mature Rock Wyrms with no children hunt with eachother but sometimes take turns going out hunting.
Domestication
The people of the mountain of Nayhl-Soong have tamed these creatures and use them to climb mountains quickly and carefully by making leather saddles and equipping the Rock Wyrms with them. They are used as combat and utility mounts, and are very deadly in the hands of a trained rider, more so than usual.
